Lessons in Kindness
A Program for Developing Strengths, Virtues, and Prosocial Behavior in Primary School Children
The program is designed for children from grades 1 to 4 and is based on the classification of character strengths proposed by C. Peterson and M. Seligman. Its main goal is to create conditions in which children become aware of their own strengths and their role in building positive relationships, accepting differences, and developing responsibility for the well-being of others.
Methodologically, the program includes a teacher's guide and student workbooks for grades 1 to 4. The lessons are structured, with 30 sessions each school year, built on the principle of progression. The content covers games, exercises, and discussions that foster self-reflection, creativity, and collective participation. Learning is experiential and involves parents as part of the process.
